You Have Been So Good

There's a song that has been getting a lot of play time on my iTunes these days.  As I look back over this year in Kenya, I'm amazed.  I'm amazed that I even got to this point.  This year has been tough, it has often been lonely, and it has been far beyond the reaches of my "comfort zone".  Yet this year has been incredible, filled with plenty of lessons, incredible new friendships, and a deeper love for Kenya than I ever could've imagined.  No place has both challenged and changed my life as much as Salgaa.  No place has broken my heart and yet restored my joy like Baby Centre.  There is not a single day of this past year that I would take back or give up.  Even the most difficult or lonely or homesick day has been an incredible day as I look back and consider all that God taught me through those days.  He truly has been SO GOOD.

So good.  God has been so good!  I don't know exactly when I'll be back to Kenya, but I know I'll be back.  I don't know exactly God's plan for the rest of my life, but I know He has one.  I know that just as God has been good, He will continue to be as I trust and follow Him.  That doesn't mean that the going will always be easy.  That doesn't mean that where God wants to lead me will always be safe.  But He is good.  So good.  And if I ever forget that, I have only to look back on this past year and all the others leading up to it to be reminded of His goodness.

 He has been so good.  So good to me!
