Beautiful Savior

"Let me show you what you can do" - those words have been spoken over and over again.  Each time I sit with a woman from Salgaa, there always seems to be a part of her story where she looks me in the eyes and says, "A friend came to me and said, 'Let me show you what you can do.'  And that's how I started selling my body to the night."

"Let me show you what you can do."

Yet today as I consider some of these same women and how their lives have been transformed, I celebrate in the fact that it is because someone came to them and said, "Let me show you what He has done!"

“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“Where, O death, is your victory?  Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God!  HE GIVES US THE VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.   -1 Corinthians 15:54b-58

I celebrate today because of what Christ has done for me!  When I was lost, drowning in lies, and living only for myself, He sent someone into my life who had the courage to say, "Let me show you what He has done!"

I celebrate today because of what Christ continues to do!  All around me I see new life that has only been found in Him, through what He has done!

Today as I celebrate the risen Lord, I celebrate all the victories that have come from HIS VICTORY over death.  I celebrate prostitutes whose lives have been changed by the living Son of God.  I celebrate orphans whose lives have been redeemed because of the work of the living Son of God in one life that had a vision of bringing rescue to those being cast aside.  I celebrate God’s move among a place called the “Heart of Darkness”.  Because of what He has done for us, there is life that can be found in this place not because of anything we have done but because of EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE!  Jesus Christ gives us the victory!  Jesus Christ has given victory to those who have sold their body to the night.  Jesus Christ has given victory to those who’ve been left in a ditch of sewage to die.  Jesus Christ has given victory to those who have been shut up and forgotten, neglected, and abused for over a year.  Jesus Christ has given victory to those who have believed their whole life they’re not good enough or worth anything.  Jesus Christ has given victory to those who were drowning in the lies of the enemy.

HE GIVES US THE VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Today I celebrate what Christ has done for me.  Because of His great love for me, I am not who I was.  I have been transformed by the power of Christ…given new life in Him.  Because of His great love for me, I daily have the opportunity to partner with Him, to share in His sufferings and rejoice in His victories.  Because of His great love for me, my past is defeated.  Because of His great love for me, I am who I am today.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  -Psalm 139:14

What Christ has done for me and for you is BEAUTIFUL.  He has brought redemption to the mess that is this world, and "to all who receive Him, to those who believe in His name, He gives the right to become children of God..." -John 1:12

"We have so much to celebrate - an almighty God who does great things for us, and a BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR who calls us His own..."
