Most days look like not knowing exactly what will come your way. Most days look like language barriers and lots of hand motions. Most days look like long "to do" lists with never enough hours in the day.
No day is exactly the same. Each day is certainly uncertain. Yet every day Jesus is there. Every day, Jesus is King. Every day, Jesus is speaking and moving in ways we cannot always see. Every day His voice beckons, "come and walk this day with Me."
Today as I headed out from a meeting with my team, I noticed a message had come through on my phone - an unexpected yet perfect reminder of promise and truth... "The Lord is my Helper and I am not afraid of anything (Hebrews 13:6). Praying this verse over you tonight."
The Lord IS my helper, on the days that feel spiritually heavy and uncertain just as much as on the days where the fruit and life of His Spirit are visible. He IS my helper and I am not afraid of anything.
There will be countless moments of questions and uncertainty, and plenty of times where I will feel in over my head. But moments such as these are not moments to fear, because THE LORD IS MY HELPER. His grace is great enough to cover it. His love is wide enough and high enough and long enough and deep enough. His truth stands firm and the roots are strong enough to withstand it all. I am not afraid of anything. I've no need to be, because the Lord is my Helper.
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal."
-Isaiah 26:3-4
"Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
-Jeremiah 17:7-8
I needed that reminder of truth today, that encouragement from His Word to sustain me and breath life into this day. I'm thankful for the countless ways God uses others to bless me with His Word and put wind behind my sails. I'm thankful for the "some days" that constantly keep me guessing, and even more thankful for the Savior who never does, who is always faithful, and can always be counted on! "The Lord is my Helper and I am not afraid of anything."
