24/7 Prayer Movement

To anyone who hasn't already heard, the 24/7 Prayer Movement has started among NMC Student Ministries. 8 days of 24/7 prayer. Kicking it off with an all night prayer vigil, 26 students & leaders came together in the YMC LL with the focus of prayer. In the LL you'll find a prayer room, worship room, confession room, and the main room set up for journaling & study. If you haven't checked it out, you should! On this prayer journey God's been taking me on, I'm reminded time and time again that prayer is more than just praying words. Prayer happens in worship, in confession, in journaling, in reading the Word. Prayer is our way of communicating with a holy, living God. So as we sing praises in worship, as we dive into Scripture, as we write psalms, poems and letters to God...these are all forms of prayer.

During the all night prayer vigil, I found myself in the worship room just laying there listening to the songs that were playing. As the songs played, Scripture came to mind that went along with the songs and God placed a new prayer on my heart.

Be glorified in me
Be glorified in us
"Not to us, O Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory." -Ps 115:1

Be glorified in this place
Be glorified in our hearts
"All the ends of the earth will remember
and turn to the LORD, and all the families
of the nations will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs to the LORD and
he rules over the nations." -Ps 22:27-28

Be glorified in all we do
Be glorified in all we say
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the LORD Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him." -Col 3:17

Be glorified in these prayers
Be glorified beyond our words
"Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name" -Mt 6:9

Be glorified on the earth
Be glorified among the nations
"The earth is the Lord's and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it" -Ps 24:1

Be glorified among your people
Be glorified and lifted high
"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory." -Is 6:3

Be glorified in this life
Let your glory be made known through me
"Here am I. Send me!" -Is 6:8

"Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is He, this King of glory?
