Top 6 Movements at NMC

I love my church. I love that God brought my family to it...at the time, I didn't think so highly of the decision. I had a church home in Warsaw for 15 years of my life, but these past 8 years at NMC have proven to be an incredible stepping stone. For this season of my life, I feel like God has me where He wants me. How much longer will I stay? I don't know, but I'm going to take advantage of every opportunity that God gives me until He takes me somewhere new.

Anyway, I was sitting down thinking through this past year at NMC & there've been some incredible movements, not just moments, that got put into motion over the course of 2006. I could list many, but here are 6 that stand out to me.

6. IMPACT 2006 Dominican Republic- I've commented on this trip various times. For a complete update of my trip, go here and here. IMPACT has been a long standing movement of NMC Student Ministries. It takes students & leaders out of their everyday schedule & lifestyle & challenges them to take their faith to the streets & share it with the world. (Individuals Making People Aware of Christ's Teaching).

5. World Partners USA Conference- This was something that NMC had the opportunity to play a role in...bringing home all the World Partners missionaries to encourage, teach, train, & further equip them for their ministry across the street & across the seas. While I wasn't in the actual conference, I was amazed by how much was put into this to show the missionary families how truly loved & appreciated they are. Another plus for me was seeing & spending time with the family I had stayed with while serving in Southeast Asia! Here is their daughter Dani!

4. Youth-O-Rama (in India)- Derry & Janelle Prenkert, along with Caleb Bislow, had the opportunity to go & speak to the youth of India at a week long conference in October. While I was not directly a part of this, I had the opportunity to join with hundreds of others in coming behind them in prayer. And God showed up in huge ways! I'm so thankful that these three took a huge step of faith, completely out of their comfort zones, for the sake of following Christ. To read more about their India reports, check here and here.

3. "I'm In"- I'm done being a Christian, I'm ready to be a Christ-Follower. This phrase describes the pace that has been set for NMC Student Ministries. It's not another catch-phrase or some moment in time, but it comes from a movement of students & leaders saying that they're sick of this whole religious act. It's time for us to grasp onto what it means to live the life of an authentic Christ-Follower. Are you in?

2. First Serve Saturday- This one gets me so pumped up!!! What is FSS? It's people coming together saying that the first Saturday of every month, they're going to give their time & their hands & feet to serving others in the surrounding communities. It's people saying this life is not about me, but instead it's about loving God & sharing His love with His people. Check out more on this here.

1. Global Impact Day 2006- I love being a part of this Missions Weekend! Mission organizations & missionaries that NMC has some hand in supporting come & fill the Grand Hall with their exhibits to let people know about God's work all over the world & how they can get involved. It's a great opportunity to see & hear firsthand all that God is doing! With every conversation, I was challenged more & more to continue on this journey of living beyond myself & recognizing that I am simply a part of His Story.
For some reason, my pics aren't downloading...so I'll try to put them on later.
