YOU CANNOT FOLLOW JESUS AND REMAIN THE SAME.
...The journey itself will change you forever- not only your priorities but your passions. It alters not only your direction but your desires. It transforms not only your actions but your values. It makes you just like Christ and unlike anyone else.
It is nothing less than LEAVING THE FAKE FOR THE REAL.There is great risk in abandoning the artificial in pursuit of the authentic. Yet if we've never known the real thing, it's easy to understand why we are mesmerized with the best versions of the imitations...
-Erwin McManus
How in my own journey have I bought into the imitations of Christianity? Fake surrender? False worship? Conditional righteousness?
There is GREAT RISK in abandoning the artificial in pursuit of the authentic.
What kind of risk? The risk of looking like a fool, standing all alone, going against the crowd, standing on your own- not because the people around you are getting up, moving in a different direction than all your friends & family, losing the comfortable for a life on the edge.
"...any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple..."
-Luke 14:33
YOU CANNOT FOLLOW JESUS AND REMAIN THE SAME.
* It will CHANGE your priorities & your passions
* It will ALTER your direction & your desires
* It will TRANSFORM your actions & your values
It will MAKE YOU JUST LIKE CHRIST and unlike anything else
God, show me where I have settled for the comfortable. Open my eyes to see where I have lacked passion & settled for being passive. God, may these words not just settle in our minds and hearts, but may they penetrate (pierce inward, far within) each one of us and CHANGE our lifestyle.
"A person God Himself deems as wise is one who not only hears His voice, but immediately begins to act upon His instrcution."
-Matthew 7:24-27-
