A Full Day in Moca...

Here's a quick update from two students, Mikayla Bedward & Katelyn Davis, on our first day in Moca!

Today was our first day actually getting to experience the DR and the culture here!  It’s amazing how welcoming and open the people were towards us!  Right as we walked up to them, they gave us hugs and smiled and were so excited to see us.  They acted as if they already knew us.  We visited the three churches where we will be spending time and doing VBS (Guanabano, Hoya Grande & Naranjal).  We walked around the town praying for the people and the service we will be doing.

Students praying over one of the church sites for VBS.
It’s been interesting tasting the different foods Quina has prepared for us.  We’re thankful for Quina and her family and all that they’re doing for us while we’re here.  Tonight we’re off to a church service at Guanabano.  Several of us will be sharing testimonies (Dom Davis, Paige Hershberger), preparing songs, and giving a message (Nick Merryman).  We're getting ready to head there now!

Students practicing for drama tonight.  The King of Hearts group will perform: Nathan Blucker, Bailey Diener, Austin Stutzman, Bethany Davis, & Cassy Searer.
We ask that you continue to pray for us throughout the trip as we spend time with the kids, share our faith, and grow as a team.  Thank you to parents and family for supporting us and keeping us in your prayers!
