I've been looking forward to this particular vacation since I first made my plans back in June. Tonight, I have my boarding pass in hand and couldn't be more excited to get away!
Things I'm looking forward to:
1. Seeing my older sister! It's been since Thanksgiving last year & I miss her SO much!
2. Getting away from the office. I love my job & the team I work with, but I'm definitely ready for a break from the stress & craziness (there's been a lot of that in the midst of a much busier summer).
3. Time to disconnect - including turning off the cell phone, unplugging from internet & email, and mentally detoxing from all things "work" related.
4. Time to connect - with my family (who are already in Arizona) & with God. It's been a while since I've felt like I could really take a deep breath & relax. This vacation to me is getting the opportunity to do that very thing.
5. Time to think - that may sound counterproductive to the whole "disconnect" thing, but I've got a lot of stuff to wrap my mind around that isn't "work" focused. And up to this point, I've not really had a lot of time for that. I'm hoping this vacation allows me the time I need to really wrestle through some next steps for me & discover where I think God may be leading me.
All in all, I'm just ready to go! Tomorrow can't come fast enough...guess I should probably think about packing soon!
So long for 10 days...well, probably longer since I'm not the most consistent blogger (it's not been high on my priority list these days)!
Peace out!
