This morning I was reminded to, "Be joyful in hope; patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Rom 12:12). God's been taking me through an incredible journey in prayer. And through it all, I've been reminded that the key is being faithful in prayer...not giving up on it just because I'm not seeing the results I want.
So, what are some things I'm praying for?
1. India Team- Pastor Dave & Christy Engbrecht, Derry Prenkert, Adam Cramer, Dr. Janelle Ashby, Joel DeSelm, & Cal & Judy Brenneman are all at a Family Camp in India, encouraging & sharing the love of Christ with many who've traveled over 30 hours to get there! God has opened up a door for them to be a part of this incredible ministry.
2. Maasai of Kenya- The Maasai are a tribe in Africa residing around the Great Rift Valley in Kenya & Tanzania. Caleb Bislow (Biz) has followed God's call to reach out to this people group & has made several trips to Kenya. He is preparing to return to Kenya for "The Exodus"- a conference for training leaders to continue to reach the unreached. You can learn more about it here and join the prayer army here.
3. Kenya Night- Students here at NMC are catching onto what it means to "Move in Our World." Kenya Night is dedicated to doing just that. It is a student led night put together to raise money, prayer support, and awareness for two incredible ministries going on in Kenya. The first is for the Maasai Project, listed above. Last year, students raised $15,000 for "The Exodus" project that Biz led! The second ministry is the Kenya Baby Center. A project that NMC began to take on back in 2004.
4. Transformed Lives- This year at 3DYC (a youth conference that was held in Grand Rapids) the theme was "Transformation". During the three days there, I was reminded of what can happen when we recognize that Jesus Christ is in the business of not simply changing lives but transforming them! I'm continuing to pray for God's transforming power in my own life as well as in the lives of the students/adults I'm working with.
