The Great Outdoors

So, this past Friday & Saturday may have been two of the most relaxing & enjoyable days I've had in quite a while! I decided to catch up on some comp time by taking Friday off & so, I got to spend the day with my mom. That's a huge highlight in and of itself...but we both decided to spend the day outside...which made it even better!

I love the outdoors! If I could pick a dream job, it would be something that would allow me to be outside the majority of the time...not stuck in an office! Actually, if not overseas on the mission field there...I'd love to end up out in the country somewhere (lots of open space) serving God. But that's another post!

So, my mom & I got an early start working out in the yard. You know, mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, planting flowers & trees, a little bit of landscaping...all stuff I really enjoy! For those of you who know me well, you know this stuff is right up my alley. I don't claim to be an expert when it comes to landscaping, but I welcome the opportunity to be outside working with my hands. I guess that comes from being a farm girl!

It was so relaxing to be out there & my mom and I had some really good conversation, which we haven't had the opportunity to have in quite some time. It was just an all around great day!

If you've never taken the opportunity to go outside and plant something & then watch it grow...do it...there's something incredibly therapeutic about it!!!
