Reclaiming the Turf

So, God took me on an incredible journey this past year that started with reading this book The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus. So much of that book jumped out at me, but the key phrase that has stuck with me is "Forward. Fight for the heart of the King." In light of that phrase, one of my favorite movies is "Miracle." To me, it's a story of reclaiming the turf- taking back ground.

"I'm sick and tired of hearing how great the Soviets are. We could play them 10 times and they might win 9, but not tonight. Not this game. There time is over. It's done. This, is our time. Tonight...this is your game. Now go out there and take it!"

How have I backed down or given up ground today, or this past week, or month, or year? Have I really given everything or is there a whole other level that I've not been willing to go to?

There's something I wrote in my journal back in January that really hit home today:
"Reclaim your turf! Don't give up one inch of ground to the opponent. Get out there & take it- no backing down, no chickening out, no giving up. You're gonna have to work harder than you've ever worked before & there's a lot of things you're going to have to sacrifice. It's gonna be hard & painful & you may want to quit- but that's when you kick it into high gear- that's when you give absolutely all you have left. Never concede- never look back...just keep pressing on!"
